Shop Your Scraps - Striped Backgrounds

Hello Everyone!!!

Last week while organizing my card-stock and patterned papers, I realized that over the past few years I have accumulated a lot of paper scraps. I have always thought about throwing them away, but I can't come to do that. So I have decided to make cards just using those scraps.

While I was at it, I felt that it would be a good idea to share the process of creating those card ideas with you, thus I will be showcasing a new card idea using just scraps on my blog every month. How is that???

So let see this month's cards.

Technique: The technique is really very simple. I have created a short video to explain the process. I hope that helps.

I am submitting these cards to :

I hope you all liked it. I would love to hear back from you all. Thank you very much for taking your time to notice it. Hope to hear again from all of  u soon. Till then take care. :)

PS: If my posts inspire you to create something on similar lines, I feel highly flattered. But please, do respect the effort I take in conceptualizing and executing, please give a direct link to my work when you are inspired by mine. Thanks for understanding :-)

Happy Little Stampers - March Anything Goes with Die Challenge

Hello Everyone!!!

From this month I will also be a part of Happy Little Stamper's - Anything Goes with Dies Challenge. As  the name suggests, you are welcome to submit any card with some kind of die usage in it.

http://www.happylittlestampers.com/search/label/Anything%20Goes%20with%20Dies

The challenge is sponsored by :

https://shop.happylittlestampers.com/

Let's take a look at my card now.

As you all know, I have been on an "Ink Smooshing" frenzy recently, I have used the same technique for this card too. See my previous cards here and here showing the same technique.

Instructions:
  • So I started it with watercolor card panel & Dr. Ph. Martin's Hydrus watercolors
  • Using acetate sheet, Distress water sprayer, I created ink puddles and then placed them on the watercolor panel only on the left bottom corner.
  • Taking the acetate sheet to the paper give you a bit of control as to where you want to place your color. I did not want to color the whole panel.
  • After I had the ink pattern created to my satisfaction, I die cut the Poppy from white card-stock and adhered it to the panel on the colored background.
  • Finally I stamped the sentiment and embellished using some Dew drops.

I know that I have been "Missing In Action" for a long time but life has been throwing some curve balls that needed my attention and so card making & crafting had to take a back seat for a while. I don't like to discuss sad stuff so lets get back to the fun and cool news.

So from the title you all must have realized that decided to jump on the card kid bandwagon this year. So I started with the Simon Says Stamp monthly card kit subscription. I may use a few things from my own stash such as card stocks, glue, foam tape, and embellishments. I know that I'm late for the January card inspirations but I'm still going to post my cards here just to mark the start point for this new challenge.

The January card kit was very winter themed and awesome for all holiday and winter occasions. Here are the cards I created using the Simon Says Stamp - January 2017 card kit. All the unique supplies used are linked below separately.

Hello Friend

Hello Everyone!

I have a really quick card for all today. Here is the card.

This is a super easy card to make. On a watercolor paper, stamped the Verve Stamps - Peacefuls Medallions in Versamark ink and heat embossed in white. Then added water to the blended  heat embosed part and blended Distress inks (colors mentioned in supplies list) according to the MFT color combo challenge for this week. Let it dry. Till then on a teal cardstock, stamped the sentiment from the Verve Stamps - Floral sentiments set and cut it into a banner. Adhered the banner to the bottom of the watercolor panel with foam tape and pasted the entire panel on a bit larger teal cardstock panel. Lastly attached the entire piece on a white card base.

I'm submitting this card for : MFT Sketch challenge ,MFT Color challenge and Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge

And here goes my card

Here are a few closeup images
