Technique of the Month - Ink Smooshing

Hello Everyone!!!
In 2017 while setting my Crafting goals, I decided to challenge myself and so I settled on the thought that each month I will come up with a card using a technique. I will try to demonstrate the technique and create a card using the technique. So today marks my 1st installment for the same.

From my previous blog post and my Instagram posts you must have realized that I have become a great fan of "Ink Smooshing tehcnique", I guess which is introduced to all of us by Laura Bassen. There are a lot of tutorials available on Youtube and various forums about this technique.  It can be recreated using any kind of watercolors available at your disposal. I tend to get best results using either Tim Holtz Distress inks, Dyan Reavley's Dylusions ink sprays, Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens or Dr. Ph Martin's liquid watercolors.

I have created a card using the same technique . Let's look at the card first .

.

Technique: The technique is really very simple. You need to remember to select colors that blend in well with one another so that you don't create a muddy mess. I had posted a short video on my Instagram feed showing the technique. You can view it here:

Card: For this card I started off by stamping the image first in black ink on watercolor card stock.  The I have used Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pen to create the background. Once the background dried up, I added a few silver splatters  on the background using Fintec Mica palette. Then  I stamped the sentiment and adhered the card panel to purple card base using glue. Finally added a squins and finished the card.

I am submitting this card to :

PS: If my posts inspire you to create something on similar lines, I feel highly flattered. But please, do respect the effort I take in conceptualizing and executing, please give a direct link to my work when you are inspired by mine. Thanks for understanding :-)
