Drama Queen

Hello Everyone!

I hope you all had a blast for Christmas & must be expecting a fabulous New Year ahead.
After a long time I had some fun with scrapbooking. Today's layout is created using Shabby Princess Easy Pie Template #29 & a color combination provided in ColorQ Challenge #169.

Now you all must be wondering whose snaps are these in this layout??? Guess ....... Its ME !!!!
I was just going through all my childhood pics 2 days ago & I came across all of these. My mom has always encourages me to take part in all kinds of extra-curriculum activities in school.

In India, the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated at homes as well as in public on a very large scale. Huge Ganesh idols are placed & worshiped at each street & in every apartment complex. Similar 'Ganesh pandal'  was near the our house. Lot of competitions used to be arranged for every age group.

The result of such an atmosphere was that, I participated in a lot of singing, dancing & fancy dress competitions there too. "Fancy Dress" was my favorite as I got to dress as a different character each time. We always picked a different historic/mythological from the Indian origin. My mom & my 2 elder cousin brothers took a lot if effort to make the look "perfect". Mom helped me get ready, dressed me up, did my makeup & trained me for the role whereas my bro's would work on the accessories required. All my family including my granny, mom, dad, uncle, aunt, bro's & even my paternal aunt's (dad's sisters) & their respective husbands would come to encourage me. All the snaps in today's layout are taken during those years in all such competitions whenever I bagged 1st prize.

I hope you all liked it. Thank you very much for taking your time to notice it. Hope to hear again from all of  u soon. Till then take care. :)

PS: If my posts inspire you to create something on similar lines, I feel highly flattered. But please, do respect the effort I take in conceptualizing and executing, please give a direct link to my work when you are inspired by mine. Thanks for understanding........:-)

I'm Back !!!

Hello Everyone!!!
I know you all must be really very upset with me for being absent from my own blog for such a long time. I'm really very sorry for doing so. The year 2012 has been really bad one for me on the career front. Trying to get back to normal since. Over this period I have been thinking what went wrong & I have come to make peace with the reality that no one did anything to make my life bad, it must have been something that went wrong on my part.

Well, that is that & the only reason I'm bragging about it to all of you is because, when things went wrong, I had decided that I would not do anything other than studies till I get back everything to normal. So that was the reason that I was absent from this blog for such long. I can't tell you how much I have missed my art & craft. Well so now that things are getting better I can't resist doing something, but because I moved to a new place & its very small, all my craft stuff is one of my friend's place. Still that can't keep me from doing something. So till I set all my affairs in place, I have found a different way to fulfill my urge & that is a well-known art of "Doodles".

The fun part of this doodling is that I'm going to share all of my doodles with you & you'll can download it for "Free". So what do you think??? Below is my first doodle for all of you.

I hope you liked my gift to you. Thank you very much for taking your time to notice it. As I'm new to this I would love to hear back from you all for suggestions & feedback. Hope to hear again from all of  u soon. Till then take care. :)

PS: If my posts inspire you to create something on similar lines, I feel highly flattered. But please, do respect the effort I take in conceptualizing and executing, please give a direct link to my work when you are inspired by mine. Thanks for understanding :-)

Happy Anniversary Aai-Baba!!!

Hello everyone!!!
Today is another special day!
Its my Mom & Dad' wedding anniversary!
As I'm from Mumbai, there is always a bank holiday on their wedding anniversary because 1st May is also called Maharashtra Day. So we all were always at home. And with the start of May month, Mom always made Aam-ras [Mango pulp sweet]. We never did any big celebration but still.... we had fun!!!

But since 2009 we 4 haven't been together on this day. I'm here in the US, Dad in Pune, Sujay in Nashik & Mom in Mumbai. Last 2 years atleast Mom, Dad & Sujay were home & I usually did video conference from here. It was still fun. But this year its completely different, Mom & Sujay are at our native place [Talgaon, near Malvan, Maharashtra], Dad is in Baroda, Gujarat & I'm sitting here in my bed in Virginia, US.

Due to this moving I was not able to send my greeting card to you both. So this is my little something for you.

Wish you both a very "Happy Anniversary!!! May God bless you both & may all your wishes come true....I hope you liked my gift to you.
I hope you all liked it too. Thank you very much for taking your time to notice it. Hope to hear again from all of  u soon. Till then take care. :)

Hello everyone!!!

I have been a lot busy these days, so don't get time to do any crafting.  I also have moved to a new place &haven't moved all my craft stuff yet, so can't do any card making even if I want to. Its going to take some time before I can do some actual paper cutting. But I was craving for sum fun, so I decided better than I keep whining about it, why don't I do something that can cheer me up. So here is the outcome of my 30 mins of pure fun.....

Its a picture of my Mom & Dad, taken last year when they were here to attend my graduation ceremony. The snap is taken at Niagara Falls. I love this one, reminds me of all the fun we had together. Its really special to me. I hope you all liked it too. Thank you very much for taking your time to notice it. Hope to hear again from all of  u soon. Till then take care. :)

PTI Blog Hop, Cutting, Trimming & Embossing Challenge ..... all in 1

Hello everyone!!!!
I have been willing to participate in PTI blog hop for so many months now, but either I forget or something comes up. So today when I realized that its 25th day of the month I was pretty sure about utilizing this chance. I also loved the challenge for today's hop "to pick a favorite card from 2011 & to create a new card taking its inspiration". Well, you all know I'm a gr8 fan of rainbow colors. They are always awesome. So I had used these rainbow colors for Bargello Technique in Nov. Here is the card:

I'm taking color inspiration from this card for today's PTI blog hop challenge.  My second card is also a birthday card, But its a little different. I hope you all like it. Here is my card:

This is a real simple card. I took a regular A2 sized white card stock & embossed the front panel using "Cuttlebug : Swiss dots embossing folder". I don't own a Cuttlebug or any other fancy embossing machine but I learnt about embossing without a cuttlebug here at Priya's blog. So I tried it myself & was pretty successful. Then I cut out 1" felt circles using a stencil & pair of scissors & shaped them like flowers by making cuts at the borders to look like flowers. I pasted these felt flowers at the bottom border of the card. Finally came the sentiment. I have only a limited collection of stamps, so sometimes I feel as if I'm being repetitive in using them, so this time I wanted to do something different. I have a huge collection of stickers of all different kinds. I used K & Company vellum alphabet stickers to make the sentiment come to life. To finish with I adhered matching rhinestones on each felt flower except on the purple one I adhered a pearl instead. I completely loved the card after it finished. Here is a close-up snap of the sentiment.

This card is also a perfect match for Moxie Fab's  Embossing & Debossing Challenge and also Cutting & Trimming Challenge. I hope you all like my card. Thank you very much for taking your time to notice this card.

Make it Monday #47

Hello everyone!!!!
My first card post for this year!! I'm looking forward to loads of more crafting & fun this year..
Recently I came across Papertrey Ink blog "Capture the moment". I have been going through their video tutorials every week for past 1 month now, but as I was busy with exams & submissions I was not able to use their tutorials to create something new. This week's PTI challenge #47  includes a recap of all the past techniques, so I guessed this is the correct opportunity to grab .

Today's card is based on two of the 46 different techniques. I picked up Make It Monday #2: Vellum Sentiment Strip & Make It Monday #31: Creating Backgrounds with Non-Background Stamps. To begin with, I adhered a plain pink cardstock on a white background. Then I stamped the pink background with a generic stamp of  "a gift" all over. Then I stamped "Happy Birthday" from the Communique Curves Sentiments set from PTI on a vellum strip. I also stamped a birthday cake on a oval shaped vellum & colored it with color pencils. Just to bring the cake in view I pasted a white cardstock behind the cake & adhered the sentiment & the cake to the background using glue dots. To hide the glue dots for the sentiment strip I attached pearls over it.

Here is my card:

I know you all would love to see a few close-ups of the details, so here they go:

Thank you very much for taking your time to notice this card. Hope to hear again from all of  you soon. Till then take care. :)
